What do these projects show?

Each entry lists the trade, the project type and the scope that Bid Sharp estimated, so you can judge whether we have worked on drawings like yours. Detailed case studies are published only after the client has approved the content, and client names, addresses and prices are withheld unless the client agrees to share them.

How do we document an estimating project?

Which project types do we estimate?

We estimate commercial, residential, multifamily, industrial and public and institutional work, across concrete, masonry, tile, electrical, MEP and every other CSI division, as well as solar.

How do we choose what to publish?

We publish a project only when the scope can be described accurately and the client has agreed to the wording. Quantities, prices and unit rates are never published without permission, because they are confidential to the contractor that used them to bid. When a project is not yet approved for public detail, it appears here as a short summary only, and its full write-up stays unpublished until approval is recorded.

What should a good estimating case study answer?

  1. What was the project, who was the client type (general contractor, subcontractor, developer or homeowner) and what was the bid or budget deadline?
  2. Which documents were provided, and which gaps, conflicts or addenda had to be resolved before pricing?
  3. Which trades and CSI divisions were measured, and how were alternates, allowances and unit prices handled?
  4. What did the client receive, and in what format (Excel, PDF, DWG or a schedule)?
  5. What happened next: was the bid submitted, awarded, or used to budget and compare quotes?
